Operations Manager

Essential

  • Keen Interest in sports

  • Sales and administrative experience

  • Hospitality experience

  • Customer service experience

  • Management Experience (minimum 3 years)

  • Double Vaccinated against Covid-19 as per Victorian State Government mandates

  • Full driving license

  • Victorian Working With Children Check (WWCC)

Desired

  • Management Degree qualification

  • Coaching Qualification

  • Referee Qualification

  • First Aid

  • RSA

  • Food Handling Certificate

 

Job summary

  • This role will operate mainly to set weekly hours with flexibility required for occasional out of hour events

  • Hours - Monday to Thursday 2pm to 10pm & Saturday 8-4pm

  • Act as point of contact in respect of day-to-day operations of the business

  • Build company image by collaborating with customers, community organisations, and employees and enforce ethical business practices

  • Actively grow business and develop programs

  • Work to maintain cost controls and within budgets

  • Put together sales initiatives and drive initiatives

  • Ensure best practice is maintained and evolved in the development of future business

  • Work to complete tasks in all areas of the business as directed by the Directors

Delivery

  • Maintain quality service and a high level of customer care, by establishing and enforcing organization standards with a particular focus on customer retention

  • Deliver the product in accordance with set standards, exceeding the internal/external customer expectations

  • Ensure all equipment and supplies are available, and maintain relationships with the suppliers of the equipment and supplies, purchasing equipment and supplies as necessary

  • Responsible for the maintenance, security, computer systems, cleanliness and appearance of the centre, both front and back of house

  • Responsible for customer areas are clean, organised and accessible at all times

  • Maintain and develop a computerised customer and prospect database

  • Develop and initiate ideas and advertise and promote the centre to increase usage and profitability

  • Manage health and safety, carry out checks on equipment and plant and arrange for maintenance, insurance, repairs and cleaning

  • Enforce compliance with the centre's health and safety and hygiene policies, as well as all other centre policies and procedures

  • Take corrective action in respect of all situations that may present a danger to customers or staff immediately

  • Handle complaints and incidents (e.g. accidents and emergencies, theft)

  • Deliver some soccer coaching - training provided

  • Referee when required - training provided

 

Staff Management

  • Work within a team environment

  • Develop, motivate, mentor and counsel staff members, whilst being a positive role model for the expected skills and behaviors

  • Responsible for maintaining and achieving training standards

  • Responsible for helping to maintain a customer-focused culture which support the values expressed in the Company mission statement and the Company's business goals of profitability and service quality

  • Establishes and maintains effective and positive relationships within the team as well as other departments

  • Responsible for the welfare and wellbeing of all employees, promoting the professional career development of the team

Other

  • Responsible for maintaining and developing all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), in conjunction with the Centre Manager, including but not limited to employee, customer, financial and health and safety objectives

  • Communicate the overall goals and objectives of Soccer5s and ensure all employees are motivated to achieving these

  • Participate in daily, weekly and monthly departmental meetings, to ensure that communication within the team is delivered to the correct level

  • Ordering and managing stock
