What is the Discovery Games?

This is a number of match days for new footballers to play games and to allow them to apply new discovered skills through introductory training programs into a match environment.

Why play Discovery Games?

The games are managed by coaches and are designed to be all inclusive to give new players chances to play against similar level opponents over a regular period of time.

How does Discovery Games work?

Games can be 5/6/7-a-side games depending on the the players involved and the coaches. Games can be tweaked during the match by coaches to make the match more competitive so all children get benefit of games.

Who should join the Discovery Games?

The discovery games are for beginner level programs, clubs and academies to join as an additional element to the programs they run. Individual teams are also welcome to join the discovery leagues, however must have a coach who would be involved on the match days.

How many seasons and how does it work?

These Discovery Seasons will work during Term 1, 2 & 3 every year and will also run from October to January over a 14 week period (summer season). Each season will have a number of match days and the team will either play 1 40 minute match or 2 20 minute matches each match day.

Term 2 will have 7 rounds every Saturday from 6th May - 17th June.
