JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM 2024
INFORMATION FOR TRAINING AND MATCHDAY PARTICIPANTS
Welcome to our Summer 2024 Junior program. The program has 2 different sections to it and is for parents information so you are aware of the details for the program going forward. The 1st section is the training section and the 2nd section is the match day section. Please read this information in full and especially the parts related to the sections that you have signed up for as some participants are training only, some are matches only and others are both training and match particpants.
Our Head Coaches for the program this year are Dominic and Seb. They will have other coaches and Aydin, our Centre Manager, supporting them during the program.
Training
Training is on Mondays at 5-6pm
Pre Christmas Training - Mon 30th Sep - Mon 16th Dec
Post Christmas Training - Mon 6th Jan - Mon 20th Jan
All players are to arrive 10mins prior to the session, checkin at the front desk and then proceed to Pitch 1 (unless otherwise directed). Our coaches will manage the sessions from that point on.
Matchday
On every match day, players are expected to be in the players walkway with their team 10 mins prior to kick off. Please notify us by text message 0437 777 563 if a player cannot make it. Notifying us of non attendance on match days is extremely important as other players are relying on their team mates to be present. If you cannot make it and let us know in advance this allows us to make plans and bring other players into the team for the game. We will invite players to participate if we are short.
Whilst we do not want to see any games forfeited, unfortunately this may happen. In the event an opposition team forfeits we will still run a friendly match for your team.
Teams
The teams players participate in will not be finalised till the first competitive fixture (Sat 12th Oct). The first fixture is a non-competition round (Sat 5th Oct) this round will allow our coaches to assess the players and tweak the teams for the competitive fixtures. We will initially place players in teams according to their ages, we will look to make adjustments so players are in teams and competitions that suit their level as best we can. We ask all parents to be mindful that the competition is an open entry competition so there will be opposition teams who may be a higher or lower level than our teams.
Kit
All Players will receive a black Soccer5s playing jersey. This Jersey will be available from Sat 12th Oct. If you already have a jersey please continue to wear it over the first few sessions. If there are clashes of kits with other teams then Soccer5s provides bibs.
Parents
Soccer5s encourage all parents to watch the games from the street side. Every pitch is viewable from there. Any spectators who wish to watch from the players walkway are required to pay a spectators entry fee of $4. It is our preference that you drop your child at the entry to the walkway and proceed to watch from the street side. We understand some parents would prefer to watch from the players walkway and it is their decision, however please be mindful of the reasons we would prefer spectators to watch from the street side - We have a narrow walkway with our pitches and we need the area to be as clear as possible so that staff can move about to access games, medical emergencies and flow of players in and out the venue.
On week 1 only (Sat 5th Oct) all parents of our teams players will be allowed to go on to the walkway at no cost so you can see where your players are going and have a level of comfort.
For parents to communicate with us, we ask that you use the mobile number above only for non attendance and any other questions are directed to our email address dandenong@soccer5s.com. Our administration staff operate from Monday - Thursday from 2pm and Saturday’s 9-4pm, please understand we are not able to respond outside of those hours.
